A metamorphosis from run-down Mayfair office block to exclusive gallery
The Gagosian Gallery, Mayfair, has been featured in the spring issue of Petersen magazine.
The building features the Danish manufacturer’s crafted Kolumba brick in the facade. Chosen for its distinctive elongated shape, Kolumba echoes and emphasises the gallery’s horizontal form. The magazine, which profiles brickwork and responsible architecture worldwide, cites the use of the hand-moulded brick in the façade as ‘the crucial element in the metamorphosis from run-down Mayfair office block to exclusive gallery’.
